Been thinking about my inquiry this year.  It has to involve IT so have decided to do mine on using Steps Web to improve children's literacy.

Reading information from the International Dyslexia Association about multisensory teaching.
Also Speech to Print by Louisa Cook Moats.

Join the Book Council and you can book in authors visits.

Ideas:

Have one action plan a term eg getting children to know what areas they can borrow from in the library

Put one library happening in the newsletter once a term. eg authors visit

The main thing I learnt out of this workshop was to stay calm when a child is having a rant at you.  They are not targeting you it is probably not about you but about something that is happening in this childs life.

Try to stay calm and don't react with anger but listen to what the child is trying to say.
